Probus Club of Ancaster
Probus Club of Ancaster
The Probus Club of Ancaster, located in the city of Hamilton, is a volunteer based organization for retired and semi-retired men and women. We regularly meet at 10:00 A.M. on the fourth Wednesday of each month at Marshall Memorial United Church, 20 Gilbert Avenue, Ancaster Ontario (the driveway to the back parking lot is off Fiddler's Green, and you enter the meeting hall through the double doors, just past the daycare centre). The meeting normally lasts for one and half hours and will include a guest speaker who will speak on a topic of interest to members. If by chance school buses are cancelled that day due to inclement weather our meeting will be cancelled as well.
During the meeting there is an opportunity to meet other members, have a cup of tea or coffee and browse through the selection of books and puzzles which are available for borrowing. Attendance at meetings is not mandatory. During the year the club will organize bus trips to various events, such as attending a show in Stratford or Niagara on the Lake, preceded by a lunch near to the theatre. The club has recently started various groups that meet for bridge, euchre, lunch and walking. There is also a lending library.
The annual club fee is $60 per member. These funds are used to mainly to cover the cost of upcoming meetings as well there is a small portion of it that goes to help fund Probus Canada.
Currently the club has over 120 members, all with differing backgrounds and interests. If you would like more information or are interested in attending a meeting please contact info@probusancaster.ca.
